March is Music in Our Schools Month!

The lists are out and Lake Washington School District (LWSD) musicians are major players for this year’s musical honor groups. This year, two organizations chose students in band, orchestra and choir to join all-state and all-northwest groups. Seventy-one high schoolers and 73 middle schoolers come from LWSD schools this year.

The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) chooses students throughout the “northwest” region. These students come from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming. The Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA) chooses students throughout the state for their honor groups.
